«THE SHEPHERD AND THE SHEPHERDESS»
From the choreographic performance "Viktor Astafyev: the Guardian of the Russian soul"
Modern pastoral "The Shepherd and the Shepherdess" Astafiev's new work "The Shepherd and the Shepherdess" literally stirred up the whole of reading Russia in the early 70s, shaking with its beginning and ending "the crying of a woman over the grave of a beloved Great Patriotic War soldier who died of wounds Why are you lying alone in the middle of Russia?"She found this grave 20 years after his death. They were shocked by the cruel, truthful scenes of the war without any pathos accepted in Soviet times, which was akin to glamour, only created in the traditions of socialist realism. But most of all, the love story of a lieutenant from the Siberian city of Yeniseisk, Borya Kostyaev, and a mysterious girl, Lucy, from a village that had just been liberated from the occupation by the Nazis, was shocking. The Astafiev pastoral was set to music by the most famous composers Valery Gavrilin and Kirill Molchanov, Arkady Nesterov and the Krasnoyarets Valery Beshevli. But, as the writer himself believed, they only touched the mystery of this amazing work, which will be discovered and solved in new generations.
